Telos made major strides in the gaming sector in June through establishing a collaboration with global retailer, GameStop. The two organizations teamed up to announce that the forthcoming GameStop Playr platform will be supported by the Telos Network and showcase games built on the blockchain.

Through a strategic partnership with The Blockchain Collaborative (TBC) at Baylor University, Telos also surpassed EVM transaction benchmarks in June via a series of controlled tests. A co-authored report between TBC and Telos revealed that testing had recorded 15,200 successful transactions per second (TPS) on the tEVM alongside 1,826 swap TPS.

In this overview of last month’s highlights, we invite you to revisit all of the additional developments at Telos in June, including recaps of each of the project’s different ecosystem teams’ progress and achievements. Without further ado, let’s dive right in!

In June, Telos Core Developers (TCD) continued to move forward with different technologically-driven initiatives intended to support the ongoing enhancement, progression and growth of the entire Telos ecosystem. From Telos’ native network to the tEVM and several dApps associated with the project, here’s a look at some of the key developments that took place:

New Hire

  • Alberto Garoffolo: The team was excited to introduce Alberto as Telos’ new Head of ZK Technologies in mid-June. His work in Zero-Knowledge and SNARKs will help deliver innovation, greater security and more versatility to the Telos ecosystem.

Telos Core Blockchain

  • Telos Native App: Upgrades made to Telos’ native app in June include fixing a recaptcha endpoint error that has been preventing account creation, the addition of a governance page and the implementation of a universal loading indicator.

Telos EVM

  • Baylor Report: Telos worked with TBC at Baylor University in Waco, Texas to test and record 15,200 TPS on the tEVM while also measuring 1,826 swap TPS — both figures that far surpass the other leading blockchains of today.
  • EVM 1.5: Several improvements were made to tEVM 1.5, including upgraded gap checker code, speed functionality and translator speeds. Plus, integrity testing and document duplication testing took place.
  • EVM 2.0: For tEVM 2.0, internal transaction fixes were implemented and tested rigorously to assure success. Progress was also made on the Antelope Leap plugin, a key piece of the project’s EVM 2.0 roadmap.
  • EVM Docker: Hyperion was removed from the system to allow for easier ongoing maintenance.
  • EVM Translator: The tEVM Translator saw a series of developmental milestones; web sockets were fine-tuned to improve real-time communications (data conversion redundancies for websockets were also eliminated), gas usage displays were optimized, code changes were made to improve efficiency, and transaction data was optimized to be broadcast in its original form.

Teloscan & dApps

  • Telos Wallet: The native Telos Wallet saw several upgrades in June, all of which served to continue to improve its user experience and overall functionality. NFT inventory accessibility was upgraded to enable parallel processing for faster transaction history retrieval and to improve filtering systems for NFTs. Additionally, faster page load times, educational documentation links, enhanced balance displays for new accounts, more dynamic user interfaces for devices with small screens, WalletConnect improvements, bug fixes, general security and system refinements, as well as deeplink handling were also introduced.
  • Telos Open Block Explorer (OBE): The block explorer for Telos also underwent upgrades that will deliver value to the Telos community at large. Action name inclusion was added to deliver more transparency for transactions taking place on Telos, while visual enhancements, code cleanup and multichain refactoring to simplify network switching were also brought forward.
  • Teloscan general upgrades: Last month, the tEVM explorer underwent a Web3 package upgrade to improve compatibility and performance, a sourcify link was fixed to enable unfettered user access and Teloscan README documentation was updated.

Moving forward, the TCD team’s priorities include:

  1. EVM Web Wallet
  2. Launching TELOS ZERO
  3. 1155 support (Translator, Indexer and API involved)
  4. Ongoing UI/UX improvements
  5. EVM 2.0
  6. Governance Change backlog

June has been a month of resilience and progress for the Telos DeFi community as we continue to address the fallout from the Multichain incident in May. Despite ongoing challenges, our team has been diligently working with the Omnidex team to ensure smooth liquidations in the TLOS lending markets.

Our primary focus has been researching and exploring various bridge solutions to restore the robustness and reliability of the Telos DeFi ecosystem. We are pleased to announce that we have made significant progress and have reached an understanding with one of the space’s top 5 bridges. Deployment of the new bridge is targeted before the end of July, a major milestone that will greatly enhance our infrastructure.

In addition to bridge solutions, we are excited to welcome Nicky Chalabi as our new DeFi lead. With her wealth of experience, Nicky is driving new project outreach, managing deal flow, negotiating partnerships, and developing DeFi strategy.

During this time, we want to highlight that the liquidity removed from the Telos EVM has been temporarily migrated to Ethereum and BSC chains, ensuring seamless access and utilization for our users.

We are also actively working to secure top exchange listings and on/off-ramp solutions. Our conversations with various exchanges are progressing positively, with some in advanced stages.

We extend our gratitude to the Telos DeFi community for your unwavering support and patience during these challenging times. Rest assured, we remain fully committed to restoring stability and elevating the Telos DeFi ecosystem.

Now into July, our focus remains on delivering a seamless and secure DeFi experience. We will continue to provide updates on the development and deployment of the new bridge solution and the progress of our exchange listings and on/off-ramp solutions.

Thank you for your continued dedication and involvement in the Telos DeFi community. Your feedback and contributions are vital to our collective growth and success.
