Telos Roadmap Overview: Antelope Leap 3.2.1 Upgrade
This is the first article in our new series covering the TCD roadmap for 2023 where take a deep dive into each roadmap Item and the improvements they will bring to Telos Native and Telos EVM! In this article we will be covering the Leap 3.2.1 Upgrade from the Antelope coalition, which promises to bring various improvements and bug fixes to the Telos Native Network.
Overview: Antelope 3.2.1 Improvements
One of the most significant changes is the stability fixes for the State History Plugin (SHiP), which was reported to crash under heavy load in the previous release. This issue has been resolved by creating an additional thread for all SHiP network communication and fixing a bug where state_history_plugin would send blocks with block_num smaller than the client requests when the state history block head is behind the block head of the client.
Another improvement is the enhancement in block propagation under high load. With the new version, a speculative block start_block is interrupted when a production block comes into the node and its block header is validated, allowing the block to be processed immediately after the execution of the current transaction. This can improve the overall efficiency of the network and reduce delays during high loads.
The release also includes several bug fixes, test fixes, logging improvements, and documentation updates. Upgrading to version 3.2.1 ensures that your node is running on the latest version with all the latest improvements and bug fixes, which is essential for maintaining the security and performance of the network. Most Telos validators have already upgraded to version 3.1, so upgrading to 3.2.1 would bring your node up to date with the rest of the network.
Overall, Antelope Leap 3.2.1 promises to bring several improvements and bug fixes to the Telos Native network, which can help improve its overall efficiency and performance. By upgrading to the latest version, you can ensure that your node is running on the latest technology and is fully prepared to handle any challenges that may arise in the future.
